Sportivo Fernet Branca's Francisco Hotz got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 9th minute, Fidel Dimas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Los Delfines fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After 15 minutes Los Delfines's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Koča Branca who took care of the corner kick. When Fidel Dimas fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Los Delfines's protests and gave Fidel Dimas a yellow card for diving instead. Quique Iglesias made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dante Millan in the 18th minute. In the 26th minute, Pedro Cresconio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Honorio Arce charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Honorio Arce the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Honorio Arce hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Alfonso Dalmai was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cayetano Rolado during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Los Delfines getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Cayetano Rolado hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Quique Iglesias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Koča Branca in the 52nd minute of play. In the 53rd minute, Dante Millan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Dante Millan came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Sportivo Fernet Branca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dante Millan couldn't finish the play. 58 minutes into the game, one of Los Delfines:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee ignored Los Delfines's protests and gave Froilan Kimetz a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Sportivo Fernet Branca booed when Los Delfines was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Froilan Kimetz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dante Millan in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Quique Iglesias prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alfonso Dalmai showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Cresconio, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. A sloppy throw-in by Froilan Kimetz in the 70th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Sportivo Fernet Branca's Honorio Arce. When Dante Millan came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Sportivo Fernet Branca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dante Millan couldn't finish the play.
