After a rather tough play, Soroca F.C.'s Osvaldo Urki got a free kick in the 64th minute. In the 65th minute, Feliciano Lluis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 67th minute, Julio Mambru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 68th match minute, The Cavern Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martín Palermo to maneuver through the defense. If Vicente Lehior had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gaston Ubarna might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mariano Thomas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gaston Ubarna ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind The Cavern Club's goalkeeper Mariano Thomas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in The Cavern Club's zone, Gaston Ubarna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mariano Thomas came out of the goal and Gaston Ubarna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched The Cavern Club eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
