The Atlético Bucaramanga fans' excitement grew in the 31st match minute when Atlético Bucaramanga's Sergio Quintero looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 47th match minute, Real Madrid de Guatemala was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilmer Gutierrez to maneuver through the defense. Atlético Bucaramanga's Ellande Aguinagalde was substituted for Tano Talaga. Silban Bonifaz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 49th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Atlético Bucaramanga's Weterio Caceo was substituted for Lugo Saavedra. After the first half Atlético Bucaramanga were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Sergio Quintero managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Bucaramanga's supporters rose to their feet, but Sergio Quintero was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sílvio Luiz Goiano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 57 minutes into the game, Sasho Inkyov was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sílvio Luiz Goiano showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Ivan Ramos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. David Ospina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 65th minute, Atlético Bucaramanga's Eneko Oyaga ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Sílvio Luiz Goiano. Sílvio Luiz Goiano yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Sílvio Luiz Goiano was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Sergio Quintero showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 68 minute of play. The supporters of Atlético Bucaramanga booed when Real Madrid de Guatemala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Jimenez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 79th minute, Weterio Caceo made a precise shot to the right of Sílvio Luiz Goiano.
