With a couple of smart ball manuevers Libardo Fuentes in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cornelio Mino saved Águilas Poblanas from getting behind. Cornelio Mino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orlando Flores in the 14th minute of the match. In the 14th minute, Orlando Flores made a precise shot to the right of Cornelio Mino. Águilas Poblanas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Cecilio Maties recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Águilas Poblanas booed when Club Deportivo Águila was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexander Zapata didn't get a good kick on the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Águila's Libardo Fuentes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cornelio Mino narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Camilo Galeas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roberto Mateus in the 26th minute of play. With a little luck, Club Deportivo Águila's Camilo Galeas got control of the ball when Roberto Mateus tried to sneak it across the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Roberto Mateus to make the kick off. Club Deportivo Águila's Camilo Galeas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roberto Mateus in the 61st minute of play. If Cecilio Maties had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th minute, Ricardo Peña hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Deris Jimenez kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Club Deportivo Águila's Esteban Pérez got a free kick in the 77th minute. In the 78th minute of the match Cecilio Maties shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Camilo Galeas showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 78 played minutes Club Deportivo Águila got a freekick which was hit by Deris Jimenez. 80 minutes into the match, Libardo Fuentes dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Cornelio Mino, 0-3. After 83 played minutes Club Deportivo Águila got a freekick which was hit by Esteban Pérez. Ricardo Peña received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 101st minute. Cornelio Mino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Águilas Poblanas supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Club Deportivo Águila's performance. The match ended with a win for Club Deportivo Águila.
