The attack was good, but when Cordero Sotomayor in the 4th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. After having played for 5 minutes, Telo Amaya managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Diablos Rojos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Telo Amaya was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Oidor Cerda took the ball and in the 7 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Camilo Galeas. Camilo Galeas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 11 minutes into the game, Nelson Hernández was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Deportivo Águila's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Diablos Rojos the free kick. Nelson Hernández kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Club Deportivo Águila were furious when David Braun was red carded, 15 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 14th minute of the game. One of Club Deportivo Águila:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Diablos Rojos:s goal. Teodor Froiz walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After 21 played minutes Diablos Rojos got a freekick which was hit by Aureo Ruesga. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oidor Cerda in the 23rd minute of play forced Club Deportivo Águila's goalkeeper Camilo Galeas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Camilo Galeas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oidor Cerda's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Telo Amaya managed to get in a good position for a shot. Diablos Rojos's supporters rose to their feet, but Telo Amaya was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Camilo Galeas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A hard shot 30 in the game by Libardo Fuentes from a close distance when the talented Celestino Villamañan managed to make a qualified save. Diablos Rojos's players were relieved. Camilo Galeas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cordero Sotomayor in the 32nd minute of the match. Ricardo Peña sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Xabel Barga's late challenge caught a Club Deportivo Águila's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Xabel Barga helped the player get up and apologised. In the 38th match minute, Diablos Rojos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xabel Barga to maneuver through the defense. Celestino Villamañan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Libardo Fuentes in the 41st minute of the match. Orlando Flores's late challenge caught a Diablos Rojos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Orlando Flores helped the player get up and apologised. 43 minutes into the game, one of Club Deportivo Águila:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Diablos Rojos a penalty, 45 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Teodor Froiz, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Club Deportivo Águila's Camilo Galeas. 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Libardo Fuentes was the one to do the kick off. After 54 played minutes Diablos Rojos got a freekick which was hit by Aureo Ruesga. 57 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Águila's goal looked a bit too open when Cordero Sotomayor came free, but Camilo Galeas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Club Deportivo Águila's zone, Oidor Cerda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Camilo Galeas came out of the goal and Oidor Cerda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 70 minutes of play, Diablos Rojos's Oidor Cerda made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Camilo Galeas was left in no man's land by his defense there! Oidor Cerda's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Camilo Galeas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. 73 minutes into the game, Libardo Fuentes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Oidor Cerda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Camilo Galeas made a huge save. After 84 minutes, Félix Pimentel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Deportivo Águila and the Diablos Rojos players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Club Deportivo Águila's Félix Pimentel got a free kick in the 84th minute. A collision led to Club Deportivo Águila getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Esteban Pérez hit a great ball. When the final whistle sounded Diablos Rojos left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Club Deportivo Águila.
