Blake Vogt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nestor Ibaute in the 4th minute of play. 6 minutes into the match, Liga de Quito's goal looked a bit too open when Marshall Valenzuela came free, but Jairo Collador reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Vancouver Reds's Frances Grossman in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After a rather tough play, Liga de Quito's Eduardo Mascareñas got a free kick in the 18th minute. After 22 minutes of play, Liga de Quito's Santo Rubion made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Blake Vogt was left in no man's land by his defense there! Blake Vogt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eduardo Mascareñas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jairo Collador showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enrique Malone, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. After 37 played minutes Liga de Quito got a freekick which was hit by Mateo Cancel. After 38 minutes, Shelton Woodruff mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vancouver Reds and the Liga de Quito players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 40th match minute, Liga de Quito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nestor Ibaute to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Vancouver Reds getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Travis Oakley hit a great ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frances Grossman was the one to do the kick off. 58 minutes into the game, Mateo Cancel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Liga de Quito's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vancouver Reds the free kick. In the 58th minute, Mateo Cancel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Blake Vogt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Urbano Pacio in the 60th minute of the match. In the 67th minute Urbano Pacio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Blake Vogt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 70th minute of the match, Marshall Valenzuela got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jairo Collador was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Vancouver Reds's Blake Vogt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zeledon Bravain in the 74th minute of play. Jairo Collador made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shelton Woodruff in the 77th minute of play. With a little luck, Liga de Quito's Jairo Collador got control of the ball when Frances Grossman tried to sneak it across the goal line. Blake Vogt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santo Rubion, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Nestor Ibaute kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Jairo Collador made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Maynard Pike sent off a good shot on target.
