Gianluca Popolizio received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Elodio Angellotti came out and tried to block the shot, but Gianluca Popolizio slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 4th minute. In the 8th minute Aldo Popolizio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elodio Angellotti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elodio Angellotti made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Gianluca Popolizio sent off a good shot on target. Barni San Martín charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Barni San Martín the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Inter de Chillán getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Barni San Martín hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Lonzo Corullon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Popolizio FBC's supporters rose to their feet, but Lonzo Corullon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elodio Angellotti breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Artizar Melic made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juan Luis Alfaro in the 25th minute of play. Aldo Popolizio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elodio Angellotti having to make a save. An unexpected shot in the 35th minute by Gianluca Popolizio got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Lonzo Corullon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gianluca Popolizio got free with Elodio Angellotti in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 38th minute of the match, Gianluca Popolizio got a very nice opportunity to score, but Elodio Angellotti was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Elodio Angellotti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gianluca Popolizio in the 39th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Popolizio FBC's Lonzo Corullon got a free kick in the 40th minute. Juan Luis Alfaro struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Artizar Melic didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Inter de Chillán. Artizar Melic showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Lacunza in the 44th minute of the match. Deportivo Popolizio FBC's Artizar Melic played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Lacunza in the 47th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gianluca Popolizio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Quintan Ontavilla took the ball and in the 51 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Elodio Angellotti. Elodio Angellotti dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. 58 minutes into the match, Deportivo Popolizio FBC's goalkeeper Artizar Melic had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Juan Pablo Toro. Elodio Angellotti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aldo Popolizio in the 61st minute of play. The Deportivo Popolizio FBC fans' excitement grew in the 64th match minute when Deportivo Popolizio FBC's Gianluca Popolizio looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 66th minute, Teofilo Alcala hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With 70 minutes on the clock, Marcos Soto commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 70th minute of the game. One of Inter de Chillán:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Deportivo Popolizio FBC:s goal. Elodio Angellotti had in the 72ndth minute some difficulties stopping Aldo Popolizio's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After a rather tough play, Inter de Chillán's Buenaventura Durruti got a free kick in the 78th minute. Artizar Melic made an important save on a dangerous shot by Francisco Lacunza in the 80th minute. Elodio Angellotti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gianluca Popolizio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Francisco Lacunza hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Inter de Chillán's Elodio Angellotti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aldo Popolizio in the 89th minute of play. In the 91st minute Aldo Popolizio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elodio Angellotti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aldo Popolizio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 95 minutes of play, Deportivo Popolizio FBC's Gianluca Popolizio made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Elodio Angellotti was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Deportivo Popolizio FBC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Inter de Chillán had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
