Tomás Las Casas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacek Limanowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jacek Limanowski's late challenge caught a Magallanes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jacek Limanowski helped the player get up and apologised. Magallanes's Tomás Las Casas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raul Palacio in the 18th minute of play. Raul Palacio took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tomás Las Casas. Tomás Las Casas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. In the 30th minute Jacek Limanowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomás Las Casas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paşa Ba got free with Tomás Las Casas in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Magallanes's Ariel Almeyda got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ajax Colombiano played a much better game than Magallanes and deserved their victory. The Magallanes players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
