Paredes Campderros started the match with the kick off. Long Yuan De took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Quirós, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leonidas Barrera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paredes Campderros in the 5th minute of the match. Leonidas Barrera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodney Cosca, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paredes Campderros in the 10th minute of play forced Buenaventura FC's goalkeeper Leonidas Barrera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 13 minutes into the match, Buenaventura FC's goal looked a bit too open when Paredes Campderros came free, but Leonidas Barrera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 30 minutes of play, Astillero del Guayas's Javier Landeras made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Leonidas Barrera was left in no man's land by his defense there! 34 minutes into the game, Paredes Campderros cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Leonidas Barrera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Javier Landeras in the 37th minute of play forced Buenaventura FC's goalkeeper Leonidas Barrera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th match minute, Buenaventura FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Totín Henríguez to maneuver through the defense. 39 minutes into the match, Astillero del Guayas's Zuberoa Sanguino broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Leonidas Barrera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dani Galiana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 47th minute of the match, Christian Quirós got a very nice opportunity to score, but Long Yuan De was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After the first half Astillero del Guayas were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Christian Quirós made the kick off in the second half. Christian Quirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Long Yuan De having to interfere. Long Yuan De took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Quirós, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leonidas Barrera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dani Galiana in the 56th minute of play. If Rodney Cosca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Leonidas Barrera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Javier Landeras, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Paredes Campderros put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Leonidas Barrera. Leonidas Barrera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodney Cosca in the 65th minute of play. 67 minutes into the match, Buenaventura FC's goalkeeper Leonidas Barrera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paredes Campderros. In the 69th minute Javier Landeras shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonidas Barrera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Astillero del Guayas getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Rodney Cosca hit a great ball. When Toro Martínez came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Buenaventura FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Toro Martínez couldn't finish the play. 95 minutes into the match, Astillero del Guayas's goal looked a bit too open when Toro Martínez came free, but Long Yuan De reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Christian Quirós kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. The Buenaventura FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Astillero del Guayas were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
