Diego Angulo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. The supporters of Sabaneta FC booed when ►Las Mercedes F.C◄ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Calito Garcia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sergio Gutierrez made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Clemente Ruy sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frisco Arroyo in the 23rd minute of play forced ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s goalkeeper Sergio Gutierrez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Clemente Ruy got free with Sergio Gutierrez in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 28 played minutes Sabaneta FC got a freekick which was hit by Cuarto Alvarez. In the 28th minute of the match Miguel Pimentel sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lautaro Estebanez skillfully saved the ball. Calito Garcia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sergio Gutierrez made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Diego Angulo sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s José Ramos got a free kick in the 46th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell José Ramos to make the kick off. When Diómedes Rodriguez came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the ►Las Mercedes F.C◄ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Diómedes Rodriguez couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Diómedes Rodriguez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lautaro Estebanez was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s zone, Frisco Arroyo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sergio Gutierrez came out of the goal and Frisco Arroyo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s Sergio Gutierrez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clemente Ruy in the 80th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felipe Senzano in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sergio Gutierrez saved ►Las Mercedes F.C◄ from getting behind. Frisco Arroyo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sergio Gutierrez having to interfere. Sergio Gutierrez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frisco Arroyo in the 86th minute of the match. Sergio Gutierrez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frisco Arroyo, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. José Ramos's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Lautaro Estebanez firmly grabbed it by the left post. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Sabaneta FC fully deserved thier win.
