Igor Sagastia came out of the goal and Tadeo Ignado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Atletico de la Rosa CF defense, Tadeo Ignado kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Igor Sagastia. The Atletico de la Rosa CF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Igor Sagastia should have stopped the shot. When Alex Aguinaga fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atletico de la Rosa CF's protests and gave Alex Aguinaga a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of River CBBA booed when Atletico de la Rosa CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Aguinaga didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, España Barbot took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Oliverio Abella to make any attempt to save it. With a little luck, River CBBA's Oliverio Abella got control of the ball when España Barbot tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling España Barbot in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Oliverio Abella prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Atletico de la Rosa CF's Igor Sagastia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tadeo Ignado in the 35th minute of play. Tadeo Ignado took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Igor Sagastia. Igor Sagastia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. After having played for 42 minutes, Tadeo Ignado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. River CBBA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tadeo Ignado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half River CBBA were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tadeo Ignado to strike the kick off in the second half.
