Nguyễn Than lost his temper 11 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Sài Gòn fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 11th minute. Penalty! After a long run with the ball, Chedli Habib Benfrej did a trick in the 14th minute in front of Sài Gòn's goalkeeper, who threw himself to the side. After that it was simple to shoot 0-1. An impressive performance by Symba's Chedli Habib Benfrej! 17 minutes into the match, Rashid Ben Yahia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vũ Minh. Sài Gòn's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rashid Ben Yahia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Vũ Minh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tarak Ayari in the 22nd minute of play. Rashid Ben Yahia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Vũ Minh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Mohamed Dhouib managed to get in a good position for a shot. Symba's supporters rose to their feet, but Mohamed Dhouib was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vũ Minh breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Lê Hung fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sài Gòn's protests and gave Lê Hung a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Sài Gòn getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Lê Hung hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Symba's Abderrahman Karoui got a free kick in the 32nd minute. After 39 minutes of play, Symba's Chedli Habib Benfrej made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vũ Minh was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sài Gòn's Vũ Minh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rashid Ben Yahia in the 44th minute of play. In the 45th minute Chedli Habib Benfrej shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vũ Minh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Rashid Ben Yahia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Vũ Minh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sài Gòn's Vũ Minh proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Sài Gòn from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lý Hoa during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Symba booed when Sài Gòn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lý Hoa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chedli Habib Benfrej, 82 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 85th minute, Tarak Ayari made a precise shot to the right of Vũ Minh. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Tarak Ayari managed to get in a good position for a shot.
