Dream Fantasy FC:s 鲁浩亦 showed great skill when he stopped Hakem Al Attar:s penalty. 鲁浩亦 made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Esam Al Hashash sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Golden Tigers defense, 冯烨亮 kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of José Alberto Chilavert. The Golden Tigers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that José Alberto Chilavert should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Golden Tigers's zone, 高响升 stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Alberto Chilavert came out of the goal and 高响升 tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 20 minutes, Basem Al Baghli mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Golden Tigers and the Dream Fantasy FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 21 played minutes, Dream Fantasy FC's 张奕奕 shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper José Alberto Chilavert came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Dream Fantasy FC reached it. 24 minutes into the match, Dream Fantasy FC's goalkeeper 鲁浩亦 had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ali Al Towatan. In the 26th minute, Esam Al Hashash ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. 鲁浩亦 was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. 鲁浩亦 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fawaz Boland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ali Al Towatan got free with 鲁浩亦 in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. José Alberto Chilavert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 邱鹰潮, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Dream Fantasy FC were awarded a corner in the 36th minute after Golden Tigers's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. 沈傲轩 took the corner. The corner led Dream Fantasy FC's 冯烨亮 to fire away a dangerous shot which José Alberto Chilavert despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Golden Tigers's José Alberto Chilavert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 冯烨亮 in the 48th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell 冯烨亮 to make the kick off. In the 54th minute 冯烨亮 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Alberto Chilavert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee ignored Golden Tigers's protests and gave Abdul Aziz Al Holey a yellow card for diving instead. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
