When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Mehmet Ediz Durdu took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Bülent Şemsifer to make any attempt to save it. In the 13th minute, Muhittin Ülkenur hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 21st minute Nihat Candar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hayri İlksen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Samsunspor's Erol Buminhan got a free kick in the 21st minute. Hayri İlksen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mithat Hirfanlı in the 25th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mithat Hirfanlı in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hayri İlksen saved Samsunspor from getting behind. In the 30th minute, Mithat Hirfanlı got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cabbar Özkan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hayri İlksen having to make a save. Lions Of Turks's Artaç Ünsan got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lions Of Turks's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Ahmet Ömür Akkın 46 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mithat Hirfanlı to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Lions Of Turks's Mithat Hirfanlı ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Hayri İlksen. Hayri İlksen yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. In the 58th minute Mithat Hirfanlı shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hayri İlksen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Artaç Ünsan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lions Of Turks's supporters rose to their feet, but Artaç Ünsan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hayri İlksen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 61 played minutes Samsunspor got a freekick which was hit by Ahmet Gökalp Deveci. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Samsunspor's goalkeeper Hayri İlksen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With an all-out effort, Lions Of Turks's Hayri İlksen threw himself towards the right post 64 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Mithat Hirfanlı, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Mithat Hirfanlı succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-3 in the 66th playminute.
