The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 3 minutes, Karl-Magnus Nyberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Asarum's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karl-Magnus Nyberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 4 played minutes Asarum got a freekick which was hit by Isac Lindkvist. Erik Bengtsson was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 16 minutes into the match. Erik Bengtsson hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. 18 minutes in the game Jan-Åke Allbom after having made a beautiful turn got a great opportunity to score and fired away a shot that went just to the left past a relieved Michel Duset. A very good opportunity. Michel Duset showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andreas Pihlblad, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 24th minute, Henrik Engström got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 28 minutes into the match, Asarum's Henrik Engström sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rune Walroth narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
