IFK Ranger's Karl-Erik Hultman got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Hampus Sigman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 24 minutes into the match, Kolsva FK's goalkeeper Kristoffer Vester had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Brian Hult. In the 27th minute Per Trillkott shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kristoffer Vester saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, Kolsva FK's goal looked a bit too open when Per Trillkott came free, but Kristoffer Vester reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kristoffer Vester took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peter Arenius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kristoffer Vester made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Brian Hult sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Kolsva FK's zone, Per Trillkott stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kristoffer Vester came out of the goal and Per Trillkott tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Malte Nyqvist during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 37th match minute, IFK Ranger was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Peter Arenius to maneuver through the defense. Kristoffer Vester took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Per Trillkott, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Kolsva FK getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Arne Telin hit a great ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Pettersson to make the kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Brian Hult managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. IFK Ranger's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brian Hult was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Pettersson in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kent Björklund prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hampus Sigman kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hampus Sigman got free with Kent Björklund in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 73rd match minute, Kolsva FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anders Nordstedt to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, IFK Ranger's Eric Bäck got a free kick in the 75th minute. In the 78th minute Tomas Pettersson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kent Björklund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kristoffer Vester made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Per Trillkott in the 84th minute of play. 87 minutes into the game, Per Trillkott was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. IFK Ranger's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kolsva FK the free kick. Per Trillkott kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Leonard Åhlberg kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. A collision led to IFK Ranger getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Eric Bäck hit a great ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Kolsva FK players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for IFK Ranger.
