The SoS FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Manfred Ros should have stopped the shot. Rolf Frykberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Folke Smed made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rolf Frykberg in the 10th minute. Oscar Bäcklin scored 0-2 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Manfred Ros, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Rolf Frykberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Folke Smed. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Folke Smed made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rolf Frykberg in the 21st minute of play. Rolf Frykberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Folke Smed showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rolf Frykberg in the 23rd minute of the match. After 23 played minutes Oldham Athletic got a freekick which was hit by Hubert Backlund. When Vilhelm Bern fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SoS FC's protests and gave Vilhelm Bern a yellow card for diving instead. In the 26th minute, Vilhelm Bern hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jimmy Linquist might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Manfred Ros. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jimmy Linquist ran back to his position shaking his head. Holger Bredberg kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. In the 30th minute Jimmy Linquist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manfred Ros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, Rolf Frykberg notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Oldham Athletic's Folke Smed. Folke Smed was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Karl-Erik Fransson to strike the kick off in the second half.
