Kenneth Forsberg made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Sixten Dahlqvist sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Jonsereds IF booed when Hermanö Oilers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Freddie Colin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 13th minute, Stefan Falck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stig-Åke Hedlund could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Kenneth Forsberg made a huge save. In the 16th minute, Verner Nordin made a precise shot to the right of Kenneth Forsberg. Hermanö Oilers's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Joakim Pettersson kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Henrik Mårtensson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sune Åberg in the 34th minute of the match. After 35 minutes, Sixten Dahlqvist mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Jonsereds IF and the Hermanö Oilers players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sixten Dahlqvist hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Jonsereds IF's Sebastian Wennerström got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Peter Bank scored 1-1 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Henrik Mårtensson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Magne Frykberg made a kick off. Anders Thedin lost his temper 52 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 55th minute Magne Frykberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kenneth Forsberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Magne Frykberg in the 59th minute of play forced Hermanö Oilers's goalkeeper Kenneth Forsberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kenneth Forsberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Magne Frykberg went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Magne Frykberg's late challenge caught a Hermanö Oilers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Magne Frykberg helped the player get up and apologised. After 63 played minutes Jonsereds IF got a freekick which was hit by Magne Frykberg. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arne Bryngelsson in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Henrik Mårtensson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jonsereds IF's Henrik Mårtensson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peter Bank in the 68th minute of play. 77 minutes into the match, Hermanö Oilers's goal looked a bit too open when Verner Nordin came free, but Kenneth Forsberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Magne Frykberg in the 79th minute of play forced Hermanö Oilers's goalkeeper Kenneth Forsberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kenneth Forsberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oskar Dahlberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Kenneth Forsberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Magne Frykberg went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Hermanö Oilers's Kenneth Forsberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Magne Frykberg in the 88th minute of play. Hermanö Oilers's Peter Bank got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Jonsereds IF fans cheered their team off the field, for while Hermanö Oilers had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
