Spectators: 160 (Terracing: 120, Seating: 37, VIP seats: 3) Hartlepool's Ingvar Sundström started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Brian Fribäck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fred Dalgren in the 14th minute of the match. Garphyttan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hartlepool the free kick. After 43 played minutes Garphyttan got a freekick which was hit by Vilhelm Lindström. In the 46th minute, Andréas Widberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arvin Löfdahl's late challenge caught a Hartlepool's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arvin Löfdahl helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Garphyttan's Arvin Löfdahl got a free kick in the 47th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Arne Hellström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hartlepool's supporters rose to their feet, but Arne Hellström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brian Fribäck breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Garphyttan's zone, Fred Dalgren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brian Fribäck came out of the goal and Fred Dalgren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arne Hellström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Birger Hedman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olof Dalberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hartlepool were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
