Lucrețiu Manolache showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcel Iliescu in the 4th minute of the match. Niculae Oproiu hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, FC Politehnica Timisoara's Nicu Isăilă got a free kick in the 9th minute. In the 13th minute Marioara Birligea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucrețiu Manolache saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marioara Birligea struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Lucrețiu Manolache didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for -BZF- Petrolul Berca. Niculae Oproiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Lucrețiu Manolache tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 28th minute, Pompiliu Pantiș hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marioara Birligea took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lucrețiu Manolache. Lucrețiu Manolache dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicu Isăilă in the 36th minute of play forced -BZF- Petrolul Berca's goalkeeper Nistor Arjoca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 38 minutes, Dorin Lungu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Politehnica Timisoara and the -BZF- Petrolul Berca players grew even worse after the yellow card. Dorin Lungu hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute, Eliodor Birișu sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and FC Politehnica Timisoara's Lucrețiu Manolache didn't even have to move. After a rather tough play, -BZF- Petrolul Berca's Niculae Oproiu got a free kick in the 40th minute. A collision led to -BZF- Petrolul Berca getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Marioara Birligea hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in -BZF- Petrolul Berca's zone, Pompiliu Pantiș stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nistor Arjoca came out of the goal and Pompiliu Pantiș tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 44 minutes, Niculae Oproiu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. -BZF- Petrolul Berca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Niculae Oproiu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 47 minutes into the match, Marcel Iliescu notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of FC Politehnica Timisoara's Lucrețiu Manolache. Lucrețiu Manolache was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marioara Birligea to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, FC Politehnica Timisoara's Anton Dugulescu got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Dorin Lungu hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. 61 minutes into the match, FC Politehnica Timisoara's goal looked a bit too open when Eliodor Birișu came free, but Lucrețiu Manolache reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 63 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for FC Politehnica Timisoara! In the 64th minute there was a penalty for -BZF- Petrolul Berca. Eliodor Birișu stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Lucrețiu Manolache. 3-0. Lucrețiu Manolache made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marioara Birligea in the 68th minute of play. In the 70th match minute, FC Politehnica Timisoara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudiu Azamfirei to maneuver through the defense. When Nichifor Borogeanu fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Politehnica Timisoara's protests and gave Nichifor Borogeanu a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, FC Politehnica Timisoara's Nichifor Borogeanu got a free kick in the 76th minute. After 81 minutes of play FC Politehnica Timisoara's Nichifor Borogeanu was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, FC Politehnica Timisoara's Nichifor Borogeanu got a free kick in the 81st minute. Lucrețiu Manolache took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Niculae Oproiu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Nicu Isăilă kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Nistor Arjoca. That made the score 3-1 in the 88 minute of play. After a rather tough play, FC Politehnica Timisoara's Claudiu Azamfirei got a free kick in the 93rd minute. 99 minutes into the game, Flavius Amarandei was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Politehnica Timisoara's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave -BZF- Petrolul Berca the free kick. After 100 played minutes FC Politehnica Timisoara got a freekick which was hit by Flavius Amarandei. When Eliodor Birișu came up free with the goalie in the 100th minute, the -BZF- Petrolul Berca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eliodor Birișu couldn't finish the play. There was no doubt that -BZF- Petrolul Berca were the better team. -BZF- Petrolul Berca's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
