Spectators: 163 (Terracing: 123, Seating: 37, VIP seats: 3) When Rareș Fânaru came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Club Atlético Timișoara fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rareș Fânaru couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Doru Corbeanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Granicerul's supporters rose to their feet, but Doru Corbeanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Albert Bratiloveanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Granicerul's Doru Corbeanu got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Granicerul's Narcis Coman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iustin Buligan in the 17th minute of play. In the 18th match minute, Granicerul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dinu Băbescu to maneuver through the defense. Narcis Coman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valer Deliman, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. 26 minutes into the match, Granicerul's goal looked a bit too open when Valer Deliman came free, but Narcis Coman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dinu Corlățean was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Narcis Coman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rareș Fânaru in the 30th minute. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Rareș Fânaru took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Narcis Coman to make any attempt to save it. The crowd rose to their feet as Iustin Buligan kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Narcis Coman. That made the score 2-0 in the 39 minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Nicolae Luncanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emanuel Cărtărescu made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Ionică Culcer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Granicerul's Nicolae Luncanu got a free kick in the 54th minute. After 56 played minutes Granicerul got a freekick which was hit by Radu Jușcă. Narcis Coman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iustin Buligan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Rareș Fânaru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 77 played minutes Granicerul got a freekick which was hit by Doru Corbeanu. Manuel Vulpescu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 77th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Narcis Coman. Granicerul's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Manuel Vulpescu fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Atlético Timișoara's protests and gave Manuel Vulpescu a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Granicerul booed when Club Atlético Timișoara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Vulpescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Doru Corbeanu charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Doru Corbeanu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Granicerul's Doru Corbeanu got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Iurie Nediu hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Narcis Coman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rareș Fânaru in the 88th minute of the match. After 89 played minutes Club Atlético Timișoara got a freekick which was hit by Niculae Moculescu. After 95 played minutes Granicerul got a freekick which was hit by Toader Gabrea. After 96 played minutes Club Atlético Timișoara got a freekick which was hit by Manuel Vulpescu. Club Atlético Timișoara's Filip Dersidan was substituted for Valer Deliman. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Club Atlético Timișoara fully deserved thier win.
