After 6 played minutes Marius Timaru rounded FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. When Dinu Aursulesei came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Purcaresti CSS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dinu Aursulesei couldn't finish the play. Gigi Drăgan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Nechifor Oargă made a huge save. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Nechifor Oargă proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save FC UNIREA Alba Iulia from getting a goal against them. In the 18th match minute, Purcaresti CSS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrei Tirulescu to maneuver through the defense. Damian Toader took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cazimir Iorgovan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 21 minutes into the game, Eduard Glodeanu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Purcaresti CSS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC UNIREA Alba Iulia the free kick. Eduard Glodeanu hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 26th minute, Dinu Aursulesei reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Nechifor Oargă. The goal made the score 2-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gigi Câmpeanu in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Damian Toader saved Purcaresti CSS from getting behind. Nechifor Oargă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dinu Aursulesei in the 33rd minute of play. The supporters of Purcaresti CSS booed when FC UNIREA Alba Iulia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alin Feroiu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dinu Aursulesei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nechifor Oargă having to interfere. The supporters of Purcaresti CSS booed when FC UNIREA Alba Iulia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gavril Niculiță didn't get a good kick on the ball. 44 minutes into the match, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goal looked a bit too open when Dinu Aursulesei came free, but Nechifor Oargă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Damian Toader made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gigi Câmpeanu in the 46th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dinu Aursulesei to make the kick off. Nechifor Oargă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dinu Aursulesei, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. A collision led to FC UNIREA Alba Iulia getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Gigi Câmpeanu hit a great ball. After having played for 59 minutes, Gavril Niculiță managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gavril Niculiță was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gavril Niculiță hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. After 70 played minutes Purcaresti CSS got a freekick which was hit by Aron Teodorescu. In the 71st minute, Liviu Sbârcea got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dinu Aursulesei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nechifor Oargă having to interfere. With his leg Damian Toader managed to avoid a goal in the 79thth minute, when FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Alin Feroiu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gigi Drăgan in the 83rd minute of play forced FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goalkeeper Nechifor Oargă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nechifor Oargă showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dinu Aursulesei in the 84th minute of the match. Gigi Drăgan struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Nechifor Oargă didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Purcaresti CSS. Nechifor Oargă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dinu Aursulesei, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute.
