Vali Ghețea could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 2nd minute of the match, but Filip Mirciulescu made a huge save. The supporters of BVB 09 booed when Galati Harbour Cats was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maxim Zăhărescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marius Agulescu might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over George Agachi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marius Agulescu ran back to his position shaking his head. George Agachi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sandu Bâru went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. George Agachi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dragoş Ivasiuc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Galati Harbour Cats booed when BVB 09 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martin Oroveanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. George Agachi came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by BVB 09's Dragoş Ivasiuc. But to his dismay, Dragoş Ivasiuc quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Galati Harbour Cats were furious when Traian Slătineanu was red carded, 32 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 31 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Galati Harbour Cats! In the 33rd minute there was a penalty for BVB 09. Sandu Bâru stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving George Agachi. 0-3. In the 37th minute Marian Morovan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Agachi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Adrian Baldazar fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Galati Harbour Cats's protests and gave Adrian Baldazar a yellow card for diving instead. After 38 played minutes Galati Harbour Cats got a freekick which was hit by Adrian Baldazar. In the 39th minute, Sandu Bâru made a precise shot to the right of George Agachi. Galati Harbour Cats's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. In the 44th minute Marian Morovan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Agachi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 48 minutes, Vali Ghețea managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galati Harbour Cats's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vali Ghețea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sandu Bâru was the one to do the kick off. George Agachi came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by BVB 09's Marian Morovan. But to his dismay, Marian Morovan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. George Agachi came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by BVB 09's Dragoş Ivasiuc. But to his dismay, Dragoş Ivasiuc quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. Vali Ghețea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filip Mirciulescu having to interfere. In the 83rd minute Gelu Murgu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Agachi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th match minute, Galati Harbour Cats was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vali Ghețea to maneuver through the defense. Galati Harbour Cats's George Agachi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marian Morovan in the 90th minute of play. After 91 played minutes Galati Harbour Cats got a freekick which was hit by Adrian Baldazar. 94 minutes into the match, Galati Harbour Cats's goalkeeper George Agachi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marian Morovan. The supporters of BVB 09 booed when Galati Harbour Cats was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrian Baldazar didn't get a good kick on the ball. BVB 09 played a much better game than Galati Harbour Cats and deserved their victory. The Galati Harbour Cats players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
