Spectators: 161 (Terracing: 121, Seating: 37, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jo Bag started the match with the kick off. Galati Harbour Cats's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Buzău the free kick. The supporters of FC Buzău booed when Galati Harbour Cats was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cosmin Claudiescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. George Agachi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Costel Dorineanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. In the 11th minute, Gavril Groza left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Buzău fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. With a little luck, FC Buzău's Gheorghe Vărzaru got control of the ball when Jo Bag tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vali Ghețea could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Gheorghe Vărzaru made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Galati Harbour Cats's Jo Bag slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gheorghe Vărzaru. That made the score 1-1 after 26 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Costel Dorineanu in the 39th minute of play forced Galati Harbour Cats's goalkeeper George Agachi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Costel Dorineanu took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised George Agachi. George Agachi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. George Agachi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Costel Dorineanu in the 47th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Costel Dorineanu was the one to do the kick off. George Agachi was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Costel Dorineanu showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 51 minute of play. Gheorghe Vărzaru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jo Bag in the 61st minute of play. In the 64thth minute of the game Jo Bag who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Buzău's Gheorghe Vărzaru was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, FC Buzău's Valer Ghimiș got a free kick in the 68th minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 71st minute of the game. One of Galati Harbour Cats:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC Buzău:s goal. When the match had been going on for 74 minutes, FC Buzău's Irinel Ivașcu got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of George Agachi. In the 77th match minute, FC Buzău was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valer Gârdan to maneuver through the defense. In the 78th minute, Adrian Baldazar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Galati Harbour Cats's George Agachi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Galati Harbour Cats from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albert Andrieșanu in the 85th minute of play forced Galati Harbour Cats's goalkeeper George Agachi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
