The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alex Pop received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Viorel Crăcană tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Manole Tăcutu made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Olimpiu Receanu sent off a good shot on target. Manole Tăcutu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Olimpiu Receanu went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Aristide Nichita scored 1-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Viorel Crăcană, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's Viorel Crăcană played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristi Hagi in the 33rd minute of play. Manole Tăcutu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Medeleanu in the 36th minute of play. After a rather tough play, -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Cristi Hagi got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 41st match minute, GoooooooooooooooooooooooL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristinel Povară to maneuver through the defense. 41 minutes into the match, Costică Stoleru had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Viorel Crăcană. GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Costică Stoleru was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. The audience was convinced that Aristide Nichita's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Viorel Crăcană was relentless in the 48th minute of the game. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

In the 60th match minute, -BZF- Valea Buzăului was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horea Neculuță to maneuver through the defense. -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Manole Tăcutu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olimpiu Receanu in the 68th minute of play. In the 72ndth minute of the game Alex Pop who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's Viorel Crăcană was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Viorel Crăcană was out of position in the 73 minute of play, and Aristide Nichita capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Aristide Nichita really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3.
