Seating: 40, VIP seats: 3) Academia Rio's Sever Vintilescu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Anton Savin was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Paul Cucu. In the 5th minute, Frank Miner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paul Cucu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 6th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Anton Savin. Minerul Baita -MM-'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 9th minute Ionuț Baran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iurie Mutu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Paul Cucu fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Academia Rio's protests and gave Paul Cucu a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Academia Rio's Paul Cucu got a free kick in the 10th minute. Marian Ozon hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. In the 14th match minute, Academia Rio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ştefan Petru to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Academia Rio defense, Ionuț Baran kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Iurie Mutu. The Academia Rio fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Iurie Mutu should have stopped the shot. After 26 played minutes Minerul Baita -MM- got a freekick which was hit by Vasile Tilincă. If János Oltean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 37th minute, Academia Rio's János Oltean dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. With a little luck, Minerul Baita -MM-'s Anton Savin got control of the ball when János Oltean tried to sneak it across the goal line. Frank Miner hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Anton Savin made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Sever Vintilescu sent off a good shot on target. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emanuel Cioroianu made a kick off. Emanuel Cioroianu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Miner in the 54th minute of play forced Academia Rio's goalkeeper Iurie Mutu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Academia Rio's Petruț Codreanu got a free kick in the 56th minute. Iurie Mutu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel Cioroianu, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 61st match minute, Minerul Baita -MM- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ionuț Baran to maneuver through the defense. Anton Savin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paul Cucu, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Anton Savin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sever Vintilescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 72 played minutes Academia Rio got a freekick which was hit by Paul Cucu. Minerul Baita -MM- made a substitution. Daniel Merișor replaced Ionuț Baran. Paul Cucu hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Nae Martinescu's late challenge caught a Minerul Baita -MM-'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nae Martinescu helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Minerul Baita -MM- booed when Academia Rio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nae Martinescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 82nd minute, Minerul Baita -MM-'s Frank Miner dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. In the 89thth minute of the game János Oltean who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Minerul Baita -MM-'s Anton Savin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Merișor in the 93rd minute of play forced Academia Rio's goalkeeper Iurie Mutu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Merișor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Academia Rio fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Minerul Baita -MM- were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
