Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Valentin Rareș in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emanuel Giurcă prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Fanaticii's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Cornel Rogozea was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Steaua Pildesti's players had a chance to rest. Cornel Rogozea made a great header on FC Steaua Pildesti's corner, it was just that FC Fanaticii's Emanuel Giurcă managed to reach the ball for a save. A collision led to FC Fanaticii getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Olimpiu Panait hit a great ball. The supporters of FC Steaua Pildesti booed when FC Fanaticii was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nichifor Iliuță didn't get a good kick on the ball. Despite this Eric Frântu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Valentin Rareș in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emanuel Giurcă saved FC Fanaticii from getting behind. After 31 minutes, Mugurel Bărăian mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Fanaticii and the FC Steaua Pildesti players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of FC Steaua Pildesti booed when FC Fanaticii was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mugurel Bărăian didn't get a good kick on the ball. 33 minutes into the match, FC Fanaticii's goal looked a bit too open when Valentin Rareș came free, but Emanuel Giurcă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Fanaticii's Marius Ganea got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Robert Răducu to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cătălin Encuțu got free with Emanuel Giurcă in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 57th minute Adam Buș shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuel Giurcă saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 59th match minute, FC Fanaticii was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nichifor Iliuță to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marius Măgură in the 62nd minute of play forced FC Steaua Pildesti's goalkeeper Eric Frântu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 63rd minute Robert Răducu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eric Frântu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Fanaticii's Șerban Nanu was substituted for Marius Ganea. FC Fanaticii's Olimpiu Panait couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 80th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for FC Steaua Pildesti. 81 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when FC Fanaticii's Șerban Nanu fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. After having played for 85 minutes, Gheorghe Vlăsiu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Steaua Pildesti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gheorghe Vlăsiu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 87th match minute, FC Fanaticii was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Șerban Nanu to maneuver through the defense. Emanuel Giurcă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rareș Ficsinescu in the 89th minute of play.
