When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Codruț Ichimescu took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Mădălin Rotariu to make any attempt to save it. When Codruț Ichimescu came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the -BZF- Barca de Buzau fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Codruț Ichimescu couldn't finish the play. -BZF- Barca de Buzau's Calistrat Bara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horea Marin in the 25th minute of play. Calistrat Bara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dorel Joja, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. -BZF- Barca de Buzau's Calistrat Bara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horea Marin in the 32nd minute of play. Calistrat Bara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudiu Becheanu in the 34th minute of the match. After 36 played minutes -BZF- Barca de Buzau got a freekick which was hit by Costin Titulescu. The audience thought a goal was coming when Șerban Bălcescu got free with Mădălin Rotariu in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 44th minute, -BZF- Barca de Buzau's Valeriu Băcioiu ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Mădălin Rotariu. Mădălin Rotariu yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Mădălin Rotariu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Codruț Ichimescu in the 51st minute of play. After some careless play in the The Valar defense, Grigore Tatomir kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mădălin Rotariu. The The Valar fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mădălin Rotariu should have stopped the shot. Mădălin Rotariu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Șerban Bălcescu in the 60th minute of play. Șerban Bălcescu took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mădălin Rotariu. Mădălin Rotariu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Nistor Cezar hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. In the 77th minute Ovidiu Pătrașcu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mădălin Rotariu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Ovidiu Pătrașcu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mădălin Rotariu was relentless in the 81st minute of the game.
