Æsir Ásgarðr's Kolbeinn Ármannsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raymond Johnston in the 34th minute of play. In the 35th minute, Neisti Runólfsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raymond Johnston in the 36th minute of play forced Æsir Ásgarðr's goalkeeper Kolbeinn Ármannsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Æsir Ásgarðr's Mathías Friðþjófsson got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Skjöldur Reimarsson made the kick off in the second half. Raymond Johnston received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Kolbeinn Ármannsson came out and tried to block the shot, but Raymond Johnston slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 57th minute. Fergus Fairbairn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Skjöldur Reimarsson in the 61st minute of the match. In the 62nd minute, Mathías Friðþjófsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Angus Howison kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. 66 minutes into the match, Æsir Ásgarðr's Skjöldur Reimarsson broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Keith McNiter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kolbeinn Ármannsson made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Raymond Johnston sent off a good shot on target. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Rangers FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
