Peder Lyssand charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Peder Lyssand the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Peder Lyssand kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Preben Bjerga kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Johann Scheuerer. That made the score 1-0 in the 7 minute of play. Preben Bjerga's late challenge caught a Rot-Weiss-Essen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Preben Bjerga helped the player get up and apologised. Kristen Rygg kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Gædd FK were furious when Sven Grønås was red carded, 17 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 17 minutes into the game, one of Gædd FK:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Hansjörg Selke placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Ludvig Hilstad showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Noel Erler, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. 23 minutes into the match, Noel Erler notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Gædd FK's Ludvig Hilstad. Ludvig Hilstad was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gino Nölte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Ludvig Hilstad tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Jarle Iqbal fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gædd FK's protests and gave Jarle Iqbal a yellow card for diving instead. Jarle Iqbal kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. The Gædd FK fans' excitement grew in the 39th match minute when Gædd FK's Preben Bjerga looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ludvig Hilstad showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Noel Erler in the 43rd minute of the match. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Preben Bjerga made a kick off. Kenneth Stordahl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gædd FK's Ludvig Hilstad proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Gædd FK from getting a goal against them. Ludvig Hilstad took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gino Nölte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 60th minute Noel Erler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ludvig Hilstad saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gædd FK's Preben Bjerga got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Preben Bjerga in the 72nd minute of play forced Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalkeeper Johann Scheuerer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Rot-Weiss-Essen's zone, Jarle Iqbal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Johann Scheuerer came out of the goal and Jarle Iqbal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Radomil Gabler got a free kick in the 92nd minute. In the 93rd minute, Preben Bjerga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Johann Scheuerer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Preben Bjerga in the 95th minute of the match. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
