The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute, Kjetil Devold hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jan-Frode Sørby got free with Dag Vie in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bårjåsnjárgga's defense didn't have a chance, in the 22nd minute, when Tor-Kristian Skjold scored to the left of an out of position Dag Vie, making the score, 3-0. Jan-Frode Sørby could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Dag Vie made a huge save. After 29 played minutes Bårjåsnjárgga got a freekick which was hit by Eskil Holmefjord. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mikkel Øverås during the 35th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mikkel Øverås stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Tor-Kristian Skjold managed to get in a good position for a shot. Saga TF's supporters rose to their feet, but Tor-Kristian Skjold was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dag Vie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bårjåsnjárgga's Mikkel Øverås got his second yellow card of the match in the 55th minute. The referee ordered Mikkel Øverås off the ground. Eskil Holmefjord didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tor-Kristian Skjold in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dag Vie prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan-Frode Sørby in the 94th minute of play forced Bårjåsnjárgga's goalkeeper Dag Vie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
