The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Johan Helle struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Shane Steadman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Oslo City FC. Thomas Holmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Garlic Eaters's Shane Steadman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Garlic Eaters from getting a goal against them. Shane Steadman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johan Helle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Tod Jones came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Garlic Eaters fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tod Jones couldn't finish the play. After 34 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Oslo City FC! In the 36th minute there was a penalty for Garlic Eaters. Louie Barfield stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Theodor Sandal. 1-2. 40 minutes into the match, Oslo City FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tod Jones came free, but Theodor Sandal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Tod Jones fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Garlic Eaters's protests and gave Tod Jones a yellow card for diving instead. After 46 played minutes Garlic Eaters got a freekick which was hit by Tod Jones. The Oslo City FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Garlic Eaters were winning 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Johan Helle to make the kick off. Shane Steadman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johan Helle in the 59th minute of play. Johan Helle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shane Steadman having to interfere. Johan Helle took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Shane Steadman. Shane Steadman dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. After having played for 79 minutes, Louie Barfield managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Garlic Eaters's supporters crossed their fingers, but Louie Barfield was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 83 played minutes, Oslo City FC's Johan Helle shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Shane Steadman came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Oslo City FC reached it. A collision led to Oslo City FC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Ludvik Holand hit a great ball. In the 89th minute Tod Jones shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Theodor Sandal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Garlic Eaters were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
