Spectators: 175 (Terracing: 132, Seating: 40, VIP seats: 3) Ballkam Sportsklubb's Tobias Lind started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute, Danko Schiffmann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 9 minutes into the match, Sydney FC's goalkeeper Florian Guderian had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tobias Lind. After 13 played minutes Ballkam Sportsklubb got a freekick which was hit by Albert Albertsen. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kees Plappert in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Johan Haugo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Ballkam Sportsklubb's zone, Ernst Schnur stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Johan Haugo came out of the goal and Ernst Schnur tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pierre Möhn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With an all-out effort, Ballkam Sportsklubb's Florian Guderian threw himself towards the right post 23 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Albert Albertsen, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Johan Haugo came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Sydney FC's Kees Plappert. But to his dismay, Kees Plappert quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Tobias Lind sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 37 played minutes, Sydney FC's Hippolyt Esche shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Johan Haugo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sydney FC reached it. When the match clock showed 41 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Tobias Lind sped through Sydney FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Florian Guderian. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Kees Plappert made the kick off in the second half. When Ballkam Sportsklubb's Kasper Flinta in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sydney FC's goalie prevented a goal. Danko Schiffmann charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Danko Schiffmann the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Sydney FC's Danko Schiffmann got a free kick in the 53rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kees Plappert in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Johan Haugo saved Ballkam Sportsklubb from getting behind. 63 minutes into the game, Hinrik Grobmaul was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sydney FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ballkam Sportsklubb the free kick. In the 63rd match minute, Sydney FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hinrik Grobmaul to maneuver through the defense. Danko Schiffmann kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Dennis Moss took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 66th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Florian Guderian. Sydney FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Florian Guderian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albert Albertsen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Sydney FC's Adnan Tilner got a free kick in the 71st minute. 72 minutes into the match, Sydney FC's goal looked a bit too open when Albert Albertsen came free, but Florian Guderian reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Kees Plappert kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Johan Haugo. That made the score 1-2 in the 74 minute of play. In the 78th minute of the match, Kees Plappert got a very nice opportunity to score, but Johan Haugo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Florian Guderian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albert Albertsen in the 81st minute of the match. Florian Guderian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albert Albertsen in the 84th minute of play. 87 minutes into the game, Carl Kjelsrud was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ballkam Sportsklubb's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sydney FC the free kick. After 92 played minutes, Ballkam Sportsklubb's Dennis Moss shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Florian Guderian came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ballkam Sportsklubb reached it. The Sydney FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Sydney FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
