Alfred Isachsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonatan Lagrolet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Knut Grevad didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Runar Holmgren went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the Hoberg United defense, Christer Kaland kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Knut Grevad. The Hoberg United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Knut Grevad should have stopped the shot. Knut Grevad made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Runar Holmgren in the 25th minute of play. 25 minutes into the game, Daustad's Tord Sundnes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Knut Grevad made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. In the 34th minute Tord Sundnes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Knut Grevad saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jan-Frode Søderholm struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Knut Grevad didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Daustad. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christer Kaland in the 48th minute of play forced Hoberg United's goalkeeper Knut Grevad to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tord Sundnes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee felt a red card was in order, 51 minutes into the game, when Erhard Dalsmark put in a rough tackle. A collision led to Hoberg United getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Erhard Dalsmark hit a great ball. Jonatan Lagrolet kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Knut Grevad made an important save on a dangerous shot by Runar Holmgren in the 56th minute. Hoberg United's Knut Grevad proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Hoberg United from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Hoberg United's Knut Grevad got control of the ball when Runar Holmgren tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Runar Holmgren got free with Knut Grevad in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 92nd minute, Runar Holmgren left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Daustad fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5.
