Henning Prinz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 7th minute Gordon Szczepanowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alf Kleinert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 10th match minute, West Staines Massive was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henning Prinz to maneuver through the defense. In the 11th minute Karsten Wolsch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick Oliver Veith saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alf Kleinert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eberhard Romstedt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute, Hertha 1969's Andi Godescheid dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 30th minute Eberhard Romstedt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alf Kleinert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patrick Oliver Veith didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Andi Godescheid went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. 36 minutes into the match, West Staines Massive's goal looked a bit too open when Lutz Ertel came free, but Patrick Oliver Veith reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hertha 1969's Alf Kleinert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hubert Michelsen in the 39th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lutz Ertel in the 41st minute of play forced West Staines Massive's goalkeeper Patrick Oliver Veith to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lutz Ertel made a kick off. Anton Aicher's late challenge caught a West Staines Massive's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anton Aicher helped the player get up and apologised. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maxim Nissen in the 61st minute of play forced West Staines Massive's goalkeeper Patrick Oliver Veith to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Willi Grünberger was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 65 minutes into the match. After 66 played minutes West Staines Massive got a freekick which was hit by Willi Grünberger. Hertha 1969's Lutz Ertel got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 69th match minute, Hertha 1969 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adi Köhler to maneuver through the defense. 70 minutes into the match, Hertha 1969's goalkeeper Alf Kleinert had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Peter Jüttner. After 88 minutes, Sebastian Haas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the West Staines Massive and the Hertha 1969 players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 89th minute, Karsten Wolsch got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hertha 1969's Nico Bell pulled a muscle in his leg after 93 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 93 minutes into the game, Hans Laudi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. West Staines Massive's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hertha 1969 the free kick. Hertha 1969's Altin Fornahl was substituted for Nico Bell.
