An unexpectedly hard shot by Heimko Schober in the 6th minute of play forced Manchester United F.C.'s goalkeeper Martyn Patten to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. But to his dismay, Heimko Schober quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Dennis Chegwyn hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Manchester United F.C.'s Martyn Patten proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Manchester United F.C. from getting a goal against them. In the 26th minute, Batho König got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sönke Odenwälder took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronnie Howard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Martyn Patten stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bruce Pesch's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. When Stu Izzard fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Manchester United F.C.'s protests and gave Stu Izzard a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Manchester United F.C.'s Stu Izzard got a free kick in the 39th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ronnie Howard in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sönke Odenwälder saved SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. from getting behind. In the 69thth minute of the game Ronnie Howard who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Sönke Odenwälder was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Erich Kellner kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Dennis Chegwyn blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sönke Odenwälder having to make a save. Steve Pennant could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Sönke Odenwälder made a huge save. In the 82ndth minute of the game Ronnie Howard who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Sönke Odenwälder was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 83rd minute, Ture Nadolski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Erich Kellner hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Ronnie Howard who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 91stth minute tested the skills of Sönke Odenwälder when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 94 minutes into the match, Manchester United F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Bruce Pesch came free, but Martyn Patten reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. had won after a very even match.
