Dionysis Naskos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sofoklis Stathatos, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. In the 8th minute Ignatios Brilakis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dionysis Naskos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Mikrá Sánta booed when ΟΦΗ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giorgos Katzelis didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ignatios Brilakis in the 19th minute of play forced Mikrá Sánta's goalkeeper Dionysis Naskos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 21st minute, ΟΦΗ's Iordanis Drambas seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Iordanis Drambas the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of ΟΦΗ protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Iordanis Drambas had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 20 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for ΟΦΗ! When the match had been going on for 22 minutes, Mikrá Sánta's Panagiotis Chronakis got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Fanis Sigalas. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Giorgos Katzelis in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dionysis Naskos saved Mikrá Sánta from getting behind. A collision led to ΟΦΗ getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Ntinos Vlasakis hit a great ball. After 30 played minutes Mikrá Sánta got a freekick which was hit by Manos Malezas. Sofoklis Stathatos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dionysis Naskos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Makis Argyrakis in the 36th minute of play. Christoforos Grigoratos hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Mikrá Sánta defense, Giorgos Katzelis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dionysis Naskos. The Mikrá Sánta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dionysis Naskos should have stopped the shot. Giorgos Katzelis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dionysis Naskos having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Mikrá Sánta's attentive Alekos Konstantinidis managed to snatch the ball when Louis Martinakos made a throw-in in the 52nd minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 56 minutes, Makis Argyrakis took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Dionysis Naskos to make any attempt to save it. In the 58th match minute, ΟΦΗ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ilias Lazanas to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 62 minutes, Manos Malezas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mikrá Sánta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manos Malezas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match clock showed 63 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Stergios Veggos sped through ΟΦΗ's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fanis Sigalas. Makis Argyrakis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Dionysis Naskos made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Sofoklis Stathatos took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Dionysis Naskos to make any attempt to save it. In the 72nd minute, Makis Argyrakis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ΟΦΗ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-4. Giorgos Katzelis charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Giorgos Katzelis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 81st minute of the match Petros Tsagogeorgas sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fanis Sigalas skillfully saved the ball. Mikrá Sánta's Dionysis Naskos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sofoklis Stathatos in the 84th minute of play. In the 91st minute, ΟΦΗ's Giorgos Katzelis dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-5. After a defensive mix-up in ΟΦΗ's zone, Stergios Veggos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fanis Sigalas came out of the goal and Stergios Veggos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
