After 10 minutes, Augusto Marini mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Squadra de Pippe and the Carloforte f.c. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 10th minute, Augusto Marini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15th minute, Ferdinando Carosella got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A hard shot 17 in the game by Anfilogino Gaeta from a close distance when the talented Filippo Punta managed to make a qualified save. Carloforte f.c.'s players were relieved. Squadra de Pippe's Anfilogino Gaeta came free and shot a quick shot against goal 19 minutes in the game, fortunately Filippo Punta had problems saving as it came toward the left post. 21 minutes into the game, Dino Di Nucci cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Scofield Volante was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferdinando Carosella in the 26th minute of play forced Squadra de Pippe's goalkeeper Scofield Volante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabiano Antonangeli hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. The supporters of Carloforte f.c. booed when Squadra de Pippe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flavio Scalia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fedele Di Croce didn't quite understand what happened when in the 37 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. After the first half Carloforte f.c. were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Anfilogino Gaeta made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Carloforte f.c.'s Federico Fabrizi got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Alfonso Raniolo hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Squadra de Pippe's Scofield Volante got control of the ball when Ferdinando Carosella tried to sneak it across the goal line. Scofield Volante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dino Di Nucci in the 59th minute of play. In the 62nd minute Dino Di Nucci shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Scofield Volante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Filippo Punta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anfilogino Gaeta, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Anfilogino Gaeta hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Dino Di Nucci scored 0-2 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Scofield Volante, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Federico Fabrizi took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Scofield Volante to make any attempt to save it. In the 92nd match minute, Carloforte f.c. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dave Ottaviani to maneuver through the defense. In the 93rd minute Anfilogino Gaeta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filippo Punta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Carloforte f.c. eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
