The supporters of Sorci Viola booed when Verbano FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Attilio Spitaleri didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Sorci Viola getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Claudio Cicchetti hit a great ball. Sorci Viola's Dennis Calcio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dario Scalabrino in the 14th minute of play. After 15 played minutes Sorci Viola got a freekick which was hit by Alex Fini. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Dario Scalabrino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Verbano FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dario Scalabrino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dennis Calcio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Armando Matteucci hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. 27 minutes into the match, Sorci Viola's goal looked a bit too open when Christian Tomei came free, but Dennis Calcio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, Dario Scalabrino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dennis Calcio. Sorci Viola's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dario Scalabrino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 33rd minute Federico Dionisi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fortunato Bianchi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fortunato Bianchi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ferruccio Cordone, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. After having played for 43 minutes, Federico Dionisi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sorci Viola's supporters crossed their fingers, but Federico Dionisi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 45th minute Ferruccio Cordone shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fortunato Bianchi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

After 51 played minutes Sorci Viola got a freekick which was hit by Dennis Proia. After 52 played minutes, Verbano FC's Alberigo Piermattei shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dennis Calcio came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Verbano FC reached it. Sorci Viola's Dennis Calcio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Sorci Viola from getting a goal against them. 60 minutes into the game, Christian Tomei recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dennis Calcio. Christian Tomei showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. In the 64th minute Christian Tomei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dennis Calcio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Verbano FC's Christian Tomei in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sorci Viola's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Verbano FC's zone, Federico Dionisi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fortunato Bianchi came out of the goal and Federico Dionisi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ferruccio Cordone during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 75th minute, Ferruccio Cordone hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dario Scalabrino got free with Dennis Calcio in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Verbano FC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Alberigo Piermattei hit a great ball. In the 84th minute Ferruccio Cordone shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fortunato Bianchi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 87th minute, Verbano FC's Dario Scalabrino ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dennis Calcio. Dennis Calcio yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. After 90 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Verbano FC! If Ferruccio Cordone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 98 minutes into the game, Alberigo Piermattei was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Verbano FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sorci Viola the free kick. In the 98th minute, Alberigo Piermattei hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Sorci Viola supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Verbano FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Verbano FC.
