Josselin Portet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano Santoro, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 35th minute Adriano Santoro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Josselin Portet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Ground Control booed when Maritek FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adriano Santoro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Diego Valerio could shoot a difficult shot in the 40th minute, which Josselin Portet however easily saved by the left post. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Youri Lignon was the one to do the kick off. Sacha Amara hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. In the 59th minute, Daniele Gaudino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ground Control were awarded a corner in the 68th minute after Maritek FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sylvain Chiffoleau took the corner. Maritek FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Aurelio Cocca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Josselin Portet breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kamel Beche hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Maritek FC lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
