Tony Schiavone scored 2-0 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Brandon Ellul, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 26th minute, Godwin Spagnol hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Patrick Buttigieg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dejan Cumbo having to interfere. In the 30th minute Tony Schiavone shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brandon Ellul saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Sliema Dragons FC's Jean Paul Caruana got a free kick in the 37th minute. Tommy Genovese struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrick Buttigieg in the 42nd minute of play forced Seraċini Għawdxin's goalkeeper Dejan Cumbo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tony Schiavone came free with the goalkeeper in the 47th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Brandon Ellul could save by the left post. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Patrick Buttigieg made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Seraċini Għawdxin's goalkeeper Dejan Cumbo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Patrick Buttigieg. A collision led to Seraċini Għawdxin getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Tony Schiavone hit a great ball. 55 minutes into the game, Philip Griffin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sliema Dragons FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Seraċini Għawdxin the free kick. Sliema Dragons FC's Brandon Ellul played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tony Schiavone in the 57th minute of play. Brandon Ellul made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martin Testaferrata Viani in the 61st minute of play. Louis Mamo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brandon Ellul having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Seraċini Għawdxin had played much better football throughout.
