After a rather tough play, Club Deportivo O IRIXO's Dacio Lara got a free kick in the 6th minute. The long shot by Saturnin Alabern in the 7th minute really tested Leonardo Romani's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 8 minutes into the match, Hanni Rico had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Leonardo Romani. Club Deportivo O IRIXO's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hanni Rico was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Claudio Diaz in the 12thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Leonardo Romani, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 12 minutes in the game, Claudio Diaz dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. In the 13th minute, Macerio Sarro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 15 minutes into the game, ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Mané Aguado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leonardo Romani made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. In the 24th minute Antero Vadillos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xabel Beloki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Xabel Beloki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Indalecio Morcego in the 26th minute of the match. Xabel Beloki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Indalecio Morcego, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Indalecio Morcego didn't get a good kick on the ball. Claudio Diaz hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Macerio Sarro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 34th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Xabel Beloki. ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Indalecio Morcego had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 40 minutes, Antero Vadillos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Deportivo O IRIXO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Antero Vadillos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Antero Vadillos to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Club Deportivo O IRIXO getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Indalecio Morcego hit a great ball. When Lander Solana fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Deportivo O IRIXO's protests and gave Lander Solana a yellow card for diving instead. In the 55th minute, Lander Solana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 57th minute, Vigil Ruiz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Llorian Cardeñosa charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Indalecio Morcego received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Xabel Beloki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leonardo Romani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafa Llorca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Club Deportivo O IRIXO's Leonardo Romani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudio Diaz in the 79th minute of play. Club Deportivo O IRIXO's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
