The audience thought a goal was coming when Hechter Cabrera got free with Ciro Martinez in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Sperides getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Etxeberri Jimenez hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Sperides's zone, Alfredo Cameno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabio Velasco came out of the goal and Alfredo Cameno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
