Belisario Llorente started the match with the kick off. Toni Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Altzibar Pareja in the 14th minute. In the 16th minute, Marcial Tarin reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Toni Vera. The goal made the score 1-0. Toni Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Altzibar Pareja in the 25th minute of play. Toni Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vergaray Echeto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Toni Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Uriel Zubiaga, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. 32 minutes into the game, Belo Sauca was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cuatrodeocho's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Girona FC the free kick. After a defensive mix-up in Girona FC's zone, Uriel Zubiaga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Toni Vera came out of the goal and Uriel Zubiaga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Girona FC's Toni Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcial Tarin in the 38th minute of play. Toni Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Altzibar Pareja in the 39th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Colas Gabas in the 42nd minute of play forced Girona FC's goalkeeper Toni Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Girona FC were furious when Hector-Luis Alfaro was red carded, 45 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 46 played minutes Girona FC got a freekick which was hit by Hector-Luis Alfaro.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Uriel Zubiaga to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Girona FC's goal looked a bit too open when Uriel Zubiaga came free, but Toni Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Cuatrodeocho booed when Girona FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arxel Pareja didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 56th minute, Altzibar Pareja made a precise shot to the right of Toni Vera. Girona FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. With a little luck, Cuatrodeocho's Quinito Cifuentes got control of the ball when Leo Dobale tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 80th minute Marcial Tarin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Toni Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 83 minutes into the game, Cuatrodeocho's Karmel Unzueta nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Toni Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. In the 88th minute, Anselmo Cabrera got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Karmel Unzueta took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Toni Vera. Toni Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0.
