After 3 minutes, Ferry van Zalingen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Verwachting and the AVV Zeeburgia players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Verwachting's Ferry van Zalingen got a free kick in the 3rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pascall Mik in the 9th minute of play forced AVV Zeeburgia's goalkeeper Dirk Jan Snoeks to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18th minute, Pascall Mik left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Verwachting fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Dirk Jan Snoeks didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sjors Schulte went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. If Sjors Schulte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arie van Zeist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Henny Jans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 33rd minute Pascall Mik shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dirk Jan Snoeks saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, Sjors Schulte had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dirk Jan Snoeks. AVV Zeeburgia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sjors Schulte was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Arie van Zeist managed to get in a good position for a shot. AVV Zeeburgia's supporters rose to their feet, but Arie van Zeist was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Henny Jans breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 44 minutes into the match, AVV Zeeburgia's goal looked a bit too open when Pascall Mik came free, but Dirk Jan Snoeks reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The wind increased when Sjors Schulte made the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Sjors Schulte took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Dirk Jan Snoeks to make any attempt to save it. AVV Zeeburgia's Dirk Jan Snoeks played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sjors Schulte in the 57th minute of play. If Marco Sleiffer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sjors Schulte in the 74th minute of play forced AVV Zeeburgia's goalkeeper Dirk Jan Snoeks to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th match minute, Verwachting was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Dol to maneuver through the defense. AVV Zeeburgia's Arie van Zeist got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ferry van Zalingen hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Sjors Schulte struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Dirk Jan Snoeks didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Verwachting. Pascall Mik scored 0-5 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dirk Jan Snoeks, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Verwachting's Sjors Schulte got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arie van Zeist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Henny Jans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
