Govert Drenth started the match with the kick off. Adam Pollakowski's late challenge caught a MK Investments's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adam Pollakowski helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of MK Investments booed when ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adam Pollakowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pio Erne's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ferdi Carels read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. Ferdi Carels took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adam Pollakowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ronny Sele sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Adam Pollakowski managed to get in a good position for a shot. ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ's supporters rose to their feet, but Adam Pollakowski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ferdi Carels breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Martin Huisingh hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. The supporters of ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ booed when MK Investments was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martin Huisingh didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ronny Sele in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ferdi Carels saved MK Investments from getting behind. After 18 played minutes ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ got a freekick which was hit by Pio Erne. After 21 minutes, Ronny Sele made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. MK Investments's Ferdi Carels tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match clock showed 26 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Ronny Sele sped through MK Investments's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ferdi Carels. 29 minutes into the match, MK Investments's goal looked a bit too open when Ronny Sele came free, but Ferdi Carels reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 31st minute of the match Ralf Wipp shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ferdi Carels showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 32 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Ronny Sele sped through MK Investments's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ferdi Carels. After having played for 34 minutes, Ronny Sele managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronny Sele was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ's Ronny Sele got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ferdi Carels showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronny Sele in the 42nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronny Sele in the 47th minute of play forced MK Investments's goalkeeper Ferdi Carels to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Ferdi Carels was a little too slow when Bernd Heid got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 55th minute. The score was now 0-7. The audience was convinced that Ronny Sele's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ferdi Carels was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. Adam Pollakowski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Ferdi Carels tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 71 minutes into the match, MK Investments's goal looked a bit too open when Ronny Sele came free, but Ferdi Carels reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ronny Sele did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-8 to the left of a surprised Ferdi Carels 73 minutes into the match. Ferdi Carels didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 77th minute, which inside left pole to 0-9. Ferdi Carels made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ronny Sele in the 82nd minute. Karl Hilti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Ferdi Carels tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, MK Investments's Ferdi Carels got control of the ball when Ronny Sele tried to sneak it across the goal line. The long shot by Etienne Ritzberger in the 87th minute really tested Ferdi Carels's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Ronny Seles short, quick shot in the 88thth minute got Ferdi Carels to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 92 minutes into the match, MK Investments's goal looked a bit too open when Ronny Sele came free, but Ferdi Carels reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The MK Investments supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ's performance. The match ended with a win for ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ.
