Thomas Smeekes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Weed Excelsior's Thomas Smeekes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angel Vardarov in the 56th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Grozdan Chapkúnov in the 58th minute of play forced Weed Excelsior's goalkeeper Thomas Smeekes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yani Popisakov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Thomas Smeekes made a huge save. In the 61st minute, Hendrik van der Struijk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Angel Vardarov's late challenge caught a Weed Excelsior's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Angel Vardarov helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Weed Excelsior booed when VN Keleler was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. The crowd rose to their feet as Sergey Munev kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Thomas Smeekes. That made the score 1-5 in the 75 minute of play. Angel Vardarov scored 1-6 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Thomas Smeekes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Weed Excelsior's Thomas Smeekes got control of the ball when Yani Popisakov tried to sneak it across the goal line. Yani Popisakov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Thomas Smeekes made a huge save. 88 minutes into the match, Weed Excelsior's goalkeeper Thomas Smeekes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sergey Munev. Thomas Smeekes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angel Vardarov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. VN Keleler's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
