In the 3rd minute, KV Schoonwater's Pieter-Jan Roelandts dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. 7 minutes into the game, Pieter-Jan Roelandts cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Thomas Smeekes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of KV Schoonwater booed when Weed Excelsior was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henk Oorschot didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Charles Cheepers kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Thomas Smeekes. That made the score 3-0 in the 16 minute of play. Nicky Rauvoets took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jurgen Oorschot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nicky Rauvoets made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jurgen Oorschot in the 19th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Marc Saelens kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Thomas Smeekes. That made the score 4-0 in the 26 minute of play. Thomas Smeekes was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Pieter-Jan Roelandts showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 5-0 in the 31 minute of play. Pieter-Jan Roelandts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomas Smeekes having to interfere. 36 minutes into the match, Charles Cheepers had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thomas Smeekes. Weed Excelsior's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Charles Cheepers was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. The supporters of KV Schoonwater booed when Weed Excelsior was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elroy Jurjens didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pieter-Jan Roelandts in the 47th minute of play forced Weed Excelsior's goalkeeper Thomas Smeekes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marcel Toolenaar to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Laurenz Kerselaers cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-0. Thomas Smeekes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 55th minute, Pieter-Jan Roelandts left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The KV Schoonwater fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-0. When Ernst Bellinkx came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the KV Schoonwater fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ernst Bellinkx couldn't finish the play. Thomas Smeekes came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by KV Schoonwater's Laurenz Kerselaers. But to his dismay, Laurenz Kerselaers quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 9-0. In the 67th match minute, Weed Excelsior was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henk Oorschot to maneuver through the defense. Thomas Smeekes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laurenz Kerselaers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 76th minute, one of KV Schoonwater:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for KV Schoonwater. The goalkeeper, Nicky Rauvoets, was totally fooled by Weed Excelsior's Henk Stroobos, who 77 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Marcel Toolenaar kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. KV Schoonwater's Jean Van Aerschot was substituted for Marc Saelens. After a rather tough play, Weed Excelsior's Marcel Toolenaar got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Weed Excelsior's Thomas Smeekes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Charles Cheepers in the 84th minute of play. Laurenz Kerselaers took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Thomas Smeekes. Thomas Smeekes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 10-1. KV Schoonwater's Matthias Persoons was substituted for Charles Cheepers. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laurenz Kerselaers in the 92nd minute of play forced Weed Excelsior's goalkeeper Thomas Smeekes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thomas Smeekes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jean Van Aerschot in the 98th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. KV Schoonwater fully deserved thier win.
