Spectators: 154 (Terracing: 116, Seating: 35, VIP seats: 3) De Ontembare Leeuwen's Koos Staal started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jan Sibon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilco Owusu Abeyie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. De Ontembare Leeuwen's Jan Sibon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roger Popken in the 14th minute of play. Elco Mulders fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan-Joost Smeekes having to interfere. Rinus Ronde kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Carsten Klaasens was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 25th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 27th minute, Frederik Zwarthoet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Seagulls's Jan-Joost Smeekes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Seagulls from getting a goal against them. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wilco Owusu Abeyie to make the kick off. Elco Mulders sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 60th minute, Roger Popken hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 66th minute, Ralf Talsma fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Jan Sibon was a little too slow when Wilco Owusu Abeyie got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 66th minute. The score was now 1-1. After 68 played minutes De Ontembare Leeuwen got a freekick which was hit by Mitchell Terpstra. De Ontembare Leeuwen's Jan Sibon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save De Ontembare Leeuwen from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilco Owusu Abeyie in the 94th minute of play forced De Ontembare Leeuwen's goalkeeper Jan Sibon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Seagulls's goalkeeper Jan-Joost Smeekes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
