Spectators: 159 (Terracing: 120, Seating: 36, VIP seats: 3) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Stano Grman kicked off to start the match. 8 minutes into the match, Genk's goal looked a bit too open when Ján Ďurica came free, but Jordi Peten reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jordi Peten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stano Grman, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Stano Grman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Genk getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Thys De Bruijn hit a great ball. Jozef Vandamme hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Tomáš Omasta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robby de Koninck, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 33rd minute, Stano Grman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jordi Peten was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Ivo De Backer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 38th match minute, Genk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pierre-Alexandre Dewolf to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Genk defense, Stano Grman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jordi Peten. The Genk fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jordi Peten should have stopped the shot. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Joris Tijs struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Tomáš Omasta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Genk. 54 minutes into the game, Mojmír Rybárik was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ŠK Horelica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Genk the free kick. A collision led to ŠK Horelica getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Mojmír Rybárik hit a great ball. Jordi Peten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mojmír Rybárik, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ján Ďurica blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jordi Peten having to make a save. Jordi Peten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ján Ďurica in the 60th minute of play. Jordi Peten showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stano Grman in the 62nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miroslav Vašáry in the 63rd minute of play forced Genk's goalkeeper Jordi Peten to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jozef Koštialik kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. In the 70th minute, Ivo De Backer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tomáš Omasta made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Joris Tijs sent off a good shot on target. In the 78th minute, Oskar Minarik hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of ŠK Horelica booed when Genk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pierre-Alexandre Dewolf didn't get a good kick on the ball. Genk's Jordi Peten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ján Ďurica in the 80th minute of play. If Steff Winnepenninck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jordi Peten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stano Grman, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. ŠK Horelica's Stano Grman got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. ŠK Horelica fully deserved thier win.
